Course and workshop materials
In my workshops, I teach the fundamental principles of illustration: using simple geometric shapes such as cubes, spheres, and cylinders to construct more complex forms; emphasizing the importance of composition and shading techniques before diving into intricate details; and encouraging all participants to embrace and enjoy the creative process, which can often be quite challenging but ultimately rewarding.
Examples of how one can start with simple shapes and work up to finished images.
How different lighting produces different shadows and how these can be used to show the environment around the character.
Using simple shapes to decide placement, shadows and composition and adding details as a last step.
The steps of drawing characters, from stick figures to fully fleshed out and clothed.
Bringing life to a character by giving it poses and expressions.
